AGED / VINTAGE LOOK

This is such an easy way to transform an old piece of unfashionable furniture into an authentic looking vintage find.

Wait for your topcoat of Chalked Paint to completely dry. Then take a fine to medium piece of sandpaper and lightly sand the surface focussing on the edging details for authenticity. Sand as much paint off as you want, allowing the original surface to show through, so it looks naturally worn around the edges.

Once you are happy with your finish, wipe it clean if all dust and topcoat with the Rust-Oleum Chalked Protective Topcoat

VINTAGE GLAM

Painted furniture doesn’t necessarily need to look old and worn or beachy in style. By carefully selecting your furniture piece and the colour and finish you choose to transform it with, you can achieve a glamorous and eye catching piece of furniture.

Select dark colours such as black or charcoal and then splurge on brass or gold fittings to finish the look. Always seal the finish with a protective topcoat.

For a glamorous chest of draw revamp, use 2 contrasting tonal colours in Chalked Paint to define the draws and detailing. Again, spend time researching and selecting hardware and fittings to complement your look.

ANTIQUING

If you want an antique look to a piece of furniture that you have painted in Chalked Paint , simply apply the Rust-Oleum Chalked Decorative Glaze once your Chalked Paint has dried.

Either dry brush it on, or use a damp brush followed by using a muslin cloth to gently wipe the excess glaze off for a subtle antiqued look.
