We are well and truly in the Summer season and it’s looking like it will be a hot one. So, why not make the most of the heat and your time off to put a fresh lick of paint on your walls? Here are the top five interior paint trends we’ve been seeing lately to give you a healthy dose of painting inspiration.
Sunshine Yellow
The old yellow walls are back with a vengeance, with emphasis being placed on the buttery, popcorn, daffodil shades that emanate happiness. If you don’t want to commit to a full yellow room or feature wall, why not try your windowsills, photo frames or bedside tables first? Yellow is a warm, comforting hue that can bring brightness to any room.
Pure Off White
A classic white wall will never go away, but we are really seeing popularity rise with a pure off white. By using this tone, you are able to eliminate any warm tones and really open up your space to light and brightness, that makes décor and plants pop.
Bubblegum Pink
Any walk through a shopping centre right now will show you pink is here in force, and not the dusty, millennial pink. We are talking fuchsia, bubblegum and bright, vivid pinks. You may not think it, but this shade can be very classy and demure if it’s styled right, so why not go for a deep pink shade as an accent to see what all the fuss is about.
Black
Black accents are coming back in full force, adding a level of dimension to a plain white space. With the added benefit of matching to any hardware (gold, chrome or black), if you want to go dark this Spring, black is the way to go.
Limewash
There is no doubt about it – limewash walls in a variety of neutrals are taking over the interiors right now. Although limewashing walls traditionally can be quite a process, there are some painting techniques and paints that can give off a similar effect. The shadowy, mottled texture exudes calm, style and class, and really adds a level of dimension to any space.
